2009 LTC Provider Meetings

The 2009 LTC Provider Meetings are right around the corner! The
meetings will be held around the state and the first meeting is June 12,
2009 at Jefferson City. Continuing education hours are approved by the
Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators (1.5 Administrative hours
and 2 PC hours). View attached flyer for more information.

ATTENTION PROVIDERS: One-Time Cash Benefit

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides for a
one-time cash benefit of $250 to certain eligible individuals receiving
a Social Security benefit, Railroad Retirement pension, Veterans
Administration disability pension, and Supplemental Security Income
(SSI). Many long term care residents will be eligible for this benefit.

Long term care facilities need to be aware of the following:

* The money is for the resident's personal use and not to pay
the facility for cost of care.

* Facilities that receive the money directly on behalf of the
resident must set the money aside in the resident's personal needs
account.
